Innovative mobile app to support patients with kidney disease
KidneyUp is an advanced mobile application designed for people struggling with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Its main goal is to support users in monitoring their health on a daily basis and adhering to their doctor’s recommendations in order to improve their quality of life and delay the progression of the disease.
Key functionalities:
- Personalized health assistant: The app offers a virtual assistant that adapts to the user’s individual needs, reminding him or her to take medications, get checkups and other important health tasks.
- Monitoring health parameters: Users can track key metrics such as blood pressure, heart rate, weight, fluid balance and glucose levels for better disease management.
- Managing treatment schedules: The app allows scheduling and reminders for doctor’s appointments, dialysis and other medical procedures to help keep treatment regular.
- Psychological support: KidneyUp offers tools to monitor mental well-being and provides tips to improve users’ emotional well-being.
- Integration with medical devices: The app allows synchronization with measuring devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucometers to automatically collect and analyze health data.

Task
Our task was to design and implement a mobile application that realistically supports the daily needs of patients with chronic kidney disease. The client expected a modern, intuitive solution that not only reminds about medications or appointments, but also monitors health parameters and offers personalized recommendations. An additional challenge was to create a flexible web system for content management and provide full multilingual support. The whole system had to meet high standards of performance, security and compliance with medical data.
